Videoscope camera inspection does not need to be complicated, nor does it require a third-party inspection company to carry out the work.

Save time and money by investing in the right visual inspection equipment upfront.

Videoscope camera inspection does not need to be complicated, nor does it require a third-party inspection company to carry out the work. Save time and money by investing in the right equipment upfront.

In this article we highlight how the latest advanced imaging inspection camera from Yateks, the Q Series videoscope, can be a useful piece of equipment to visually inspect shiny hard to reach surfaces.

Take wind power generation. Often equipment is built in remote areas making inspection and maintenance difficult. Missing the smallest defect or crack can have serious and costly consequences. With a videoscope camera you could avoid costly mistakes and visually inspect hard to reach areas, even on the shiniest of surfaces.

In turbines the bearing is often the source of gear failure, which can cause movement and abnormal noise in the meshing of the high-speed shaft and the intermediate gear shaft. Likewise, bearings in the squeezed state may cause friction resulting in metal shavings falling off causing wear in areas that could go undetected. But visually inspecting bearings is made difficult because they are the hardest hit area for light reflection, even worse than gears.

Yateks, a 20-year-old factory located in Shenzhen, China, specialises in R&D and manufacturing of Industrial Borescopes. The Q series is the latest advanced videoscope on the market providing greater clarity of difficult to reach areas.

The Q Series videoscope is equipped with a large 5.5-inch OLED touch screen uses high-definition megapixels and advanced image processing technology to display an image in a more three-dimensional shape highlighting the smallest defect or crack. The advanced backlight and colour filtering technology ensures the screen is bright and can be easily adjustable to provide the user with a greater level of detail.

Equipped with a mechanical 360° rocker for precise camera head articulation & control, multiple camera head diameters (2.2mm, 2.8mm, 4.0, 6mm), a wide range of insertion tube lengths as well as IR, UV and dual camera head options – The Yateks Q Series provides greater flexibility for more inspection applications.

The advanced technology means inspection personnel can share the fault at the scene in real-time over a network, giving remote technicians the ability to more accurately guide the inspection of key components by front-line inspection personnel, including defect measurement and the analysis of key components.
